Hinduism

Hinduism is more than just a religion, is a way of life. This religion is practiced mostly in the Indian subcontinent and some parts of Asia. This religion is considered a fusion of different Indian cultures and traditions. It began to be practiced between 500 and 300 years before our era (1750 b.C), with the influence of the Vedic religion. Hinduism contains many different doctrines but maintains traditions such as: recognized rituals, cosmology and pilgrimage to sacred places. Hindu texts are classified into śruti (‘heard’ directly from the gods) and smriti (‘remembered’, the fruit of tradition).

The most important topics in Hindu beliefs include karma, samsara (reincarnation or the cycle of births and deaths), various types of yoga, and the four goals of man:
- dharma: religion, ethics and obligations
- artha: prosperity and work
-  kama: satisfaction of desires and passions
- moksha: spiritual salvation
Hinduism prescribes moral obligations, such as truthfulness, refraining from harming living beings, patience, tolerance, self-control, and compassion.
